Brian's Bistro; A magical place for jolly, happy souls

RUMFORD- Frosty the Snowman may have needed a silk hat on his head to make him come to life, but all you need is a visit to Brian's Bistro. The fine cuisine, mouth-watering cocktails and laughter of friends around the bar is all you'll need to have a lively holiday party this year.

As you begin to think of what to get that special someone on your Christmas list, think of giving the gift of time. Time goes by so quickly, why not enjoy their company for an evening out at Brian's Bistro during this busy holiday season.

From the moment you step through the door your mouth will be watering from the aroma of the fried calamari, the tomato cream sauce of the Pomodoro and the finger-licking ribs that are new to the menu.

Also new to the menu is the expanded, hand-selected wine list. Whether you prefer the rich fruitfulness of a Cabernet or the subtle berry flavor of a Riesling, Jessica has a bottle of wine that you will fall in love with.

There are still wine goblets available through the wine club, so be sure to stop in and ask Jessica how you can sign up.

As most of you are looking to save money through the holidays, Brian's Bistro now offers to cork your unfinished bottle of wine for the travel home. It's less expensive if you buy by the bottle, rather than the glass.

If beer is more your cocktail of choice, try one of the six beers on tap or many other favorites from the cooler. For the winter season, try the dark lager of Gritty's Christmas Ale or if you're looking for something lighter, try the Sebago Saddleback. Brian's Bistro has something for everyone.

Brian and Jessica Nichols have been on the corner of Hartford and Lowell streets in the Historic Hotel Harris for three years now and business is booming.

Word traveled over the summer months about their fine cuisine, pleasant atmosphere and outstanding staff; drawing the attention of a writer from Down East Magazine to interview them.

“What an honor,” noted Jessica. “It was an amazing boost to our reputation.”

Brian's Bistro employs 16 staff members with six cooks, two dishwashers and eight wait staff ready to make your evening one to remember. So call ahead to reserve time for your holiday party. If your party can't make it to the bistro, why not bring the bistro to your party. Give the staff plenty of notice and they'll put together a platter to appease everyone's appetite.

Reservations are once again being taken for the limited menu being served from 4 to 9 p.m. on New Year's Eve. As a reminder, walk-ins on that night will not be permitted due to the high turn-out expected.

Brian and Jessica wanted, “to give a shout out to all their amazing staff for the care they show all their customers. They work really hard to make the bistro what it is. And our customers, wow. Our extreme gratitude to our loyal patrons. Here's wishing them a happy, healthy, prosperous and safe holiday! We are so thankful to all the people who appreciate what we do.”

Did you know that the bistro will also host your events for up to 50 people during the day on Saturday, Sundays or Mondays? They have great food, great service and all for a great price. Why not reserve space for your bridal & baby showers, birthdays and more?
