Come paddle with us
HANOVER/MEXICO- The annual Source to the Sea will be paddling from Hanover to Rumford on Thursday and from Mexico to Dixfield on Friday. Paddles will begin at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday and 8:30 a.m. on Friday.
As in the past, a shuttle service will meet paddlers in Hanover (Thursday) and Mexico (Friday) to leave their kayaks and follow them to leave their vehicles at the end of the day’s paddle. A requested donation of $10 is welcome per day to the Androscoggin River Watershed Council.
On Thursday, the River Valley Healthy Community Coalition and Subway will provide a free sandwich and water at the Rumford boat launch when paddlers complete the afternoon trek.
Friday’s paddle will be joined by the Clean Water Carbon Fund and Ethel Wilkerson will be tagging along to help educate paddlers on what the organization does. For every paddler, the organization will plant one tree along the river.
Remember your safety vests, lunch for Thursday and we’ll see you out on the river.
