Dixfield Historical Society Flower show winners 2011
DIXFIELD- The historical society hosted the Al Larsen Festival of Flowers at the Open Market Day with a beautiful variety of cut and wild flower arrangements. Hydrangeas, phlox, pansies, golden glow, nicotina, cattails, lillies, coreopsis, wild berries and Queen Anne's Lace were just some of the beautiful flowers on display.
Terry Holman won Best of Show for his beautiful and exceptionally large blue hydrangea displayed as a single stem. Becky Collins won the People's Choice with her simple country arrangement of wild grasses and purple cone flowers in a raffia bow.
Additional winners include: Bouquet Cut Flowers: First, Charlotte Collins; Second, Sally Carey (Also Hon. Men. To first place); Third, Donna Richard; Honorable Mention, Becky Collins.
Bouquet of Wild Flowers: First, Deb Towle; Second, Charlotte Collins; Third, Sally Carey; Honorable Mention, Becky Collins (Also People's Choice).
Single Flower or Stem: First, Terry Holman (also Best of Show); Second, Sally Carey; Third, Luc Morin.
Miniature Bouquet: First, Sally Carey; Second, Charlotte Collins.
House Plant: First, Sally Carey.
The historical society thanks everyone for their participation. WE look forward next year to more people in the area displaying some of their beautiful flowers for others to enjoy.
