Dixfield post office for sale?

DIXFIELD- Selectmen began their meeting Monday evening by first going into a 40-minute executive session with attorney Matthew Tarasevich in regard to a personnel matter. Once the regular meeting began, business was as usual until they reviewed a letter from Sperry Van Ness, King Properties of San Luis Obispo, CA.

“I represent a client with substantial amount of cash who is interested in purchasing Post Office Facilities in the State of Maine. Since you have a Post Office in Dixfield, my client would be interested in making you and offer, given additional information concerning your property and the price and terms you would consider accepting. If you are willing to entertain an offer on this property or any other postal facilities that you own, please call me as soon as possible to discuss a potential sale.”

The letter is signed Kevin King and the website given is www.svn.com.

Chairman of the Board, Macky Gill, noted, “I just thought this was a little comical and wanted to bring it to everyone’s attention.”

The letter brought a light-hearted moment to the meeting and was dismissed. No action was taken.
