A gift for mom
Mom, mama, mother, mum, ma, mamma, mummy, momma, mommy; no matter how you say it, you have one and this Sunday she will be celebrated along with millions of others across the country. Let’s take a little trip down memory lane, what are some of the memories you have of your mother?
For me, I remember back to the bright sunny day she sent me to my room for telling a little white lie because I was so excited to have a family cookout, a rare night just the two of us were snuggling on the couch watching an original episode of Dallas, and the year of “I love you” notes.
In my 37 years of life, there are many more moments, but I won’t take up time talking about my life. I want you to take some time and think about your relationship with your mom and how you can celebrate her this Mother’s Day.
Are you a writer, a photographer, maybe you enjoy cooking, gardening or maybe you’re the caretaker of the family photo archives. There are so many creative things you could do for your mom.
Sometimes, time is all they want or need, so you may consider giving them a coupon book of your time. That way they can redeem them at a time when they’re really needing your love and attention.
For most adults, you’re a long ways away from the days of glueing macaroni to construction paper or coloring a pretty picture, but maybe not. Use your creative genius.
Whatever you decide to do, remember, a gift from your heart is sure to melt that of your mom’s.
