Advantage completes their move
RUMFORD- There was plenty of excitement at 160 Congress St. last week at the site of the new Advantage Insurance office with prizes and give aways galore.
Owner of the business, Mark Cote, made a nice donation to the River Valley Fireworks Committee, but not without making them work for it. He and his staff strung together 15 $10 bills as a ribbon and allowed committee members Mary Lapointe and Greg Buccina to do the honors.
“It's been very busy over here,” noted Becky Dolloff, office manager. “It's great to see all the business and support.”
Along with the $150 donation to help bring fireworks back to town, the insurance company had a drawing for Red Sox tickets, a Sony Reader, a variety of gift certificates and a multitude of free gifts donated by participating insurance companies.
Last year, Cote had the opportunity to expand his business by capitalizing on the retirement of Michael Aube who had been operating the former Aube-McInnis Insurance Agency, Inc. since the 1960's.
In doing so, he not only increased his client base, but gained a landmark of a building that had been selling insurance since 1912, proving that the business of insurance is here to stay in town.
During the transition, Cote noted, “It was a natural transition to purchase the agency from Mike. We have similar philosophies. Between the companies he was able to offer, and the ones we have, we can find coverage for just about anything. Mike has been a great competitor over the years. He is honest, and he really cares about his customers.”
Over the past few months, the computer system has been upgraded and the building reorganized to make room for the joining of the Advantage Insurance staff of Becky, Josanne and Cathy, and Kelly and Paula from the former Aube-McInnis Agency.
