Winterfest at Black this weekend

RUMFORD- Join Black Mountain of Maine for tons of fun on Winterfest Weekend, this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. In addition to all thats listed in the schedule, we’ll have tons of raffles, games, prizes and ice fishing demos. Not a skier? Adventurers will be able to ride the lift or snowshoe to the top of the mountain for fantastic, panoramic views of the area.

Schedule is:

Friday: Becky Shaw Memorial Day

3 to 6 and 7 to 9 p.m.- Music by Jewel and Donnie; wings, nachos and happy hour drink specials.

Saturday:

9 a.m. until sold out of mimosas and muffins in the Last Run Pub.

9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.- Breakfast sandwiches and barbecue at the summit

11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.- Scenic lift rides, every half hour, $3

11 a.m. to 3 p.m.- Sleigh rides, $10, under 5 free with paying adult

4 to 6 p.m.- Sledding on the novice, $3, free for season pass holders, bring your own sled

4 to 7 p.m.- Free skiing, lifts stop at 7 p.m.

5 p.m. to sellout- Lasagna dinner, $8, 12 and under $6

7 p.m. to 10 p.m.- Music by Ralph Arsenault in the Last Run Pub

7:30 p.m.- Torch Light Parade, followed by fireworks

Sunday:

9 a.m. to sellout of Muffins and Make-Your-Own Marys in the Last Run Pub

10 a.m.- Never Ever Race, 10 and under, $2; (1:30 p.m. Awards)

12 p.m.- Scavenger Hunt

2:30 to 5:30 p.m.- Music by Ralph Arsenault in the Last Run Pub

3 p.m.- Adult Apres Ski in the Last Run Pub

There will be events over three days, including scenic lift rides, barbeque at the top, sleigh rides, sledding on the novice trail,  free skiing from 4-7 p.m., a torch light parade and freworks - and that's just Saturday!
