Hill hopes to bring new ideas to town position
DIXFIELD- Samantha Hill has rather large shoes to fill upon being hired to replace longtime town secretary/treasurer, Charlotte Collins, but she is ready for the challenge and hopes to bring some of her own ideas and a fresh outlook to the position.
“I am looking forward to being able to learn new things everyday and of course, being close to friends and family is a bonus,” noted Hill.
Hill graduated from Dirigo High School in 1995 and took advantage of the business management program at Region 9 before graduating. She went on to get her degrees in travel and tourism and dog grooming. Hill has worked in one form or another of customer service in an office setting since she graduated high school.
For the past three years she has worked with accounts receivable and collections, and stated that the experience she has from the past 17 years has prepared her to work in any type of office setting.
Hill stated, “I applied for the secretary/treasurer position because I really wanted a position close to home, since I have been traveling to Auburn five days a week for a year, I was missing valuable time with my seven year old son, Thaden. I am hoping that my experience in working with the public and my knowledge of the town will help in bringing new ideas and a fresh outlook to the position.”
