Hotel Rumford; Open seven days a week and weekends

RUMFORD- Are you tired of shopping and still have a few pennies to your name? Why not take the whole family out for a meal at Hotel Rumford, where they’re open seven days a week and weekends. Yes, you read that correctly.

“Kids love it here,” noted Kevin Kaulback, managing partner. “We give out free popcorn every night, we have Buzztime Trivia, there’s always a game on and I will tell you that our food is really good.”

Hotel Rumford prides themselves on their attention to cleanliness and giving the customer what they want.

“If a customer orders a special drink or something that we don’t have,” noted Leah McKay, manager. “We’ll go buy it and if we don’t see them for a month after that, it’s okay, we appreciate their business and want to have what they want the next time they come in.”

In addition to Thursday night Bud Light Trivia Night, Hotel Rumford offers a mug club for only $40 a year, and if you sign up and pay in the month of January, you get a $10 discount on the club and a free t-shirt.

Are you looking for a cool place to hang out, get some great food and watch the big game this weekend? Look no further than Hotel Rumford and their 20 televisions. And, get this, you won’t miss a play with televisions located in the restrooms, too.

Beginning this Friday, you’ll recognize Lewis Hill working away in the kitchen to bring you some of the sports bar’s finest.

With a variety of food options ranging from hot wings with 11 different dipping sauces, wraps and salads to the new kids’ menu and the latest addition, the Colossal Burger, you are sure to find something on the menu to cure your appetite.

Are you wondering what a colossal burger is? It rings true to its’ name. Bordered on either end by the bun, it is filled with a whole pound of meat consisting of a half-pound burger patty, pulled pork, and bacon. Oh, and don’t forget the cheese and whatever else you would like to add to it. It comes with a side of fries, so you may want to bring a friend to help you with it.

When it comes to washing it all down, Hotel Rumford has 11 beers on tap and a range of draft options. With favorites like Pabst Blue Ribbon, Bud Light and Shipyard Prelude your thirst is sure to be quenched. Maybe you’re looking for something a little different. Hotel Rumford has a variety of flavored Pinnacle for you to mix and match with your favorite beer.

“We’re always having fun here,” noted Kaulback. “It’s a great family place. We wanted to provide the area with a family-friendly eatery to kick back and relax. We have one-of-a-kind service here.”

For those of you who have friends or family coming in for a night or two and don’t have extra space for them. Hotel Rumford offers a cozy room upstairs for only $55 per night. With a full bath, microwave, refrigerator, free cable television and wi-fi, and not to mention a comfortable bed, you’ll feel right at home.

Hotel Rumford employs nine local people and they pride themselves on dealing business locally. They purchase all their products from local vendors whenever possible and support Pumpkin Fest, Envision Rumford, a local championship softball team and now a basketball team, as well.

Hotel Rumford is open Monday through Friday; 3 p.m. until closing and Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 until closing. They can be found on Facebook and right around the corner on 65 Canal Street.

Stop in this Christmas and wish the Hotel Rumford staff a merry new year and purchase a couple gift cards for those stocking stuffers on your list.

I almost forgot, for all of you who believe in the Mayan calendar and the world coming to an end on 12-21-2012, Hotel Rumford will be hosting an End of the World party on Friday with specials for the night. You may not want to miss it, it may be your last hoorah...evah!
