Logan flies with PALS
RUMFORD- “Logan Hamner took flight with Patient AirLift Services at daybreak on the first day of Spring, March 20, after a surprising snowstorm. Logan left the Auburn Municipal Airport for Boston’s Children’s Hospital where he is scheduled for weekly follow-up care for his newly transplanted lungs. Logan’s grandmother, Linda Thomas, was grateful that she did not have to endure the pre-dawn drive to Boston in those conditions; and, after a long day, they were able to be back home in Rumford that evening at a sensible hour. After arriving in Boston's Logan Airport, Patient AirLift Services also provided cab fare for ground travel.”
This was a recent report on the weekly flights Logan is scheduled to take from Auburn to Boston. Logan stated, “I’m feeling great and they’re all such nice people. I think their service has great meaning and they’re very helpful. And, the best part is that it only takes us 30 minutes to get to Boston.”
Patient AirLift Services (PALS) provides free air transportation to those who qualify and are in need of reaching their medical facilities. For more information they can be found at www.palservices.org or by calling 888-818-1231. PALS is looking forward to flying with Logan again this week, and they extend the offer to anyone in the surrounding Rumford community who may be in need of this service.
PALS is also seeking qualified volunteer pilots to help them in their mission of providing free transportation for patients like Logan.
