Paradise by Sherry Salon; Pampering you this Christmas season

MEXICO- Located just across from the fire station on Main Street, slip into Paradise by Sherry Salon to escape the dreaded elements of the day and pamper yourself with one, or many of her various services, sure to transport your mind to the land where it’s all about you.

Sherry’s adventure in cosmetology was always a dream of hers, as far back as she can remember, and 20 years ago, with a little help, she made her dream a reality.

“I was raising three boys and didn’t know what to do when I got back to town. I was on unemployment at the time and they offered me schooling. I couldn’t believe it, they were going to send me to school and help me make something of myself. I jumped at the chance. What a great feeling, you know, to be able to help myself and not depend on welfare.”

Sherry never looked back. She juggled school work, traveling to and from classes, getting her boys ready for school and everything else that comes along with motherhood.

“It wasn’t easy,” stated Sherry. “But, I wanted it so bad. I wanted to own my own business. I wanted to be around people. I just love people.”

The 12-month cosmetology course took Sherry 14 months to complete, but she did it.

“I was so proud. I just couldn’t believe that my dream was coming true.”

Sherry began work at House of Beauty, where she spent the next 10 years and then when her sister decided to open Sand Turtles, Sherry jumped at the opportunity to work with family.

“It was wonderful, but I’ve always wanted to work on my own and have my own shop.”

Just this past year, Sherry opened her small shop in the back of 125 Main St. and hasn’t looked back.

She has just about anything men or women need for a day of pampering. At Paradise by Sherry Salon, you will find the latest in hair fashion, tanning services, nail treatments, including the ever-popular shellac, and more.

As a matter of fact, throughout the next few weeks, you can enter a free raffle for a Christmas basket to be drawn on Christmas Eve Day at noon.

You can purchase salon package baskets from now until Christmas, which include a free tanning consultation, tanning product and much more. Gift certificates are also available for purchase if you’re not quite sure how that special someone desires to be pampered right now.

“It’s so much fun to see my clients come through the door,” stated Sherry. “Opening my own small business is the best thing I’ve ever done. I have clients anywhere from one year old all the way to 90. It’s just great.”

Paradise by Sherry Salon is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., Friday from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome and evening appointments can be made by appointment.
