A summer for Simple Things
PERU- Fran Goodine has opened up her craft shop, Simple Things, located at 480 Greenwoods Rd. for the remaining of the summer months.
If you’re looking for affordable, hand-made crafts such as knit goods, water-colored paintings, wooden knitting needles, stitch markers or want to have a portrait of your pet painted on a saw blade, piece of slate or a rock, Simple Things is where you’ll find it.
Goodine is the former librarian of 33 years at Livermore Falls’ Treat Memorial Library and discovered that with her desire, “To try to make most anything,” she has enough to fill her small shop and cater to those looking for a unique made-in-Maine gift.
“If I’m here, I’m open,” noted Goodine. Her normal hours are Sunday through Saturday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., but stated that if someone showed up before dark, she would do her best to help them out.
Goodine also has a self-published family book of knitting patterns for sale. The patterns that her family passed down through the years can now be shared with many others who enjoy the craft of knitting.
While Goodine’s shop is not heated in the winter months, she stated that she will stay open as long as she can in to the fall months, as long as she has business to support it.
You can contact Goodine for custom orders by calling 562-7027.
