RUMFORD -- Kathryn “Kitty” Coolidge is excited to showcase some of her music selections at the Friday, June 7 Kaleidoscope in the Mystic Theater at 49 Franklin.
Kitty is going to be senior at Telstar High School in the fall. She has been honing her skills on keyboards and vocals for over five years under the direction and lessons of Thea Dunn, who Kitty credits her knowledge of the musical arts.
Among the pieces she will perform are “Real Love” by John Lennon, “If I Ain't Got You” by Alicia Keys, “Glitter In The Air” by Pink and more. Influenced by Norah Jones, The Beatles, Taylor Swift and Sugarland Kitty puts her heart into each song.
In fact, at a 2008 Sugarland concert that she attended with her parents, Tish and the late Victor Coolidge, she was the random audience member who received a guitar signed by Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush.
She recalls Kristian come right off the stage into the audience and handing her the signed guitar. She keeps the iconic collectable in a guitar stand on display at her home for inspiration and admiration of the band.
Kaleidoscope is River Valley’s once a month party for the arts held on the first Friday of each month from 7 to 10 p.m. Visual and performance artists gather to mix mingle, socialize and network with other artists and guests. The public is welcome to attend at no fee but donations are encouraged and divided among the artists. Drinks and snacks are available for purchase. See www.49franklin.com for directions and details.
