RUMFORD -- Adriana Gorham, a senior at Mountain Valley High School, has a work of art on display at the Blaine House in Augusta as part of the Maine Youth Excellence in Art Exhibit.
The work, which is titled Diptych: Eyes, was created using colored pencil and is composed of two drawings, one of a cat and one of a fox. The focus of each drawing is the eye. A diptych is a work of art composed of two separate pieces that are meant to be view side by side as one artwork.
Gorham's creation, which is one of thirty on display in the capitol complex, can be seen in at Governor's Mansion. Only two works from the show are selected to be hung at the Blaine House and it is a special distinction.
At an opening reception in the Blaine House, Gorham was awarded certificate from Maine's First Lady, Ann LePage, for her excellent work in art.
The Maine Arts Commission organized the Excellence in Art program.
