MVHS delivers holiday drive to food pantry
NHS members Kyle Gauvin and Garrett Carver count the food items and pack them for delivery to the food pantry.
RUMFORD -– Students and staff of Mountain Valley High School collected more than 650 food items for the local food pantry at the Congregational “Green” Church in Mexico.
National Honor Society students set up a competition between classes. The class that brought in the most items will be awarded a free period to watch a movie as a class in the auditorium on December 22.
“The sophomores dominated with 280 items,” said NHS member Garrett Carver. “Freshmen and seniors were close to each other with 157 and 151 items. The juniors contributed 66 items.”
National Honor Society is continuing to sponsor a book drive for children in disaster zones, poverty stricken communities, schools, libraries, and domestic and international charities. They particularly need textbooks. If you would like to drop off used books, please do so in the lobby at MVHS.
