Program about Social Security

RUMFORD -- The Dempsey Center and Rumford Hospital will present Joshua Lyons, claims representative for Social Security Administration (SSA), on Wednesday, September 19 from 3 to 4 p.m. in the Rumford Library Public Room.

Lyons will offer a general overview of Social Security, Social Security Income (SSI) and Social Security Disability Income (SSDI). He will discuss qualifications, guidelines and how to apply. Lyons will also demonstrate video conference technology used by the SSA that links with the Social Security office in Auburn.

Lyons has worked for the Social Security Administration for four years as a claims representative. He grew up in the Rumford area and graduated from Mountain Valley High School in 2004.

This program is one of the monthly programs sponsored by the Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing and Rumford Hospital.

The program is free and open to the public.
