Sludge Suckers Tank Service having open house
MEXICO -- A local business, Sludge Suckers Tank Service, features a unique machine that can clean the sludge out of your oil tank at a fraction of the cost it would take to replace an oil tank.
Owner Jon Young said he originally bought the sludge removal system because his father, Steve, was told by a reputable furnace installation company that he needed to change his oil tank due to the amount of sludge in the tank and that it was going to cost $1,200 to $1,500 to change out the tank.
Steve asked the furnace installation representative if there was a way to clean the sludge from the tank. The rep said "no."
Jon said that after much investigation, he found out about this machine to remove the sludge. He when decided to take a chance and try it.
After trying it on the first tank, Jon said he quickly realized this could be a good business opportunity.
That's because his sludge sucking maching is the only one in the entire state. "If you have Sludge Suckers clean your tank, you'd be amazed at the stuff that comes out, and there is no more mess than if you had your furnace cleaned."
Jon said it takes about two hours or so and the result will be that it'll make your furnace run about 20 percent better.
"If you're told you need to change your oil tank due to sludge, have us clean it instead at a fraction of the cost of a new tank," he said.
The cost is $220, which includes a filter at the tank. Jon said, "That's a savings of over $1,000 plus you save money due to less consumption."
Jon said their business is fully insured and the work can be done with no spillage and no mess.
Sludge Suckers is located in the same building as Construction Caterers at 168 Highland Terrace. They can be reacyed at 364-8655 or 357-6608. Check out their website and Google "Sludge Suckers of Maine" and view their video demonstration of their machine.
Sludge Suckers Tank Service will be holding an open house this Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. They will be providing demonstrations of their sludge sucking machine.
