Amazing Hero Art coming to Muskie Auditorium
RUMFORD- “Amazing!” That one word sums up the reaction of those who attended Rob Surette’s “Who Art In Heaven” Show in 2007 at Mountain Valley High School. Rob is returning to inspire young and old that you, too, can make a difference in this world with his “Be Somebody!” Amazing Hero Art Show.
Join the Holy Savior Youth Ministry on Saturday, April 9, for a pre-show of singing by the group at 6:30 p.m., with the Amazing Hero Art Show slated to start at 7 p.m. at the Mountain Valley High School auditorium.
Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door and will benefit Holy Savior Youth Ministry.
Rob Surette is a motivational speaker and speed painter. He is in constant motion, leaping before canvases that stand six-feet-tall. He dips gloved hands into paint and creates portraits within minutes. During this fast-paced and sophisticated performance, accompanied by music and video clips, audience members will gasp in amazement as flying paint somehow turns into the most realistic, beautiful portraits ever painted in such a short period of time.
Most impressive, however, is Rob’s way of conveying his message of respect, compassion and creativity and the power of positive thinking to those who desperately need hope in their lives. Rob is a world class performer who receives invitations regularly to travel the world to perform his Amazing Hero Art in front of world leaders.
Since 1995, Surette has performed over 2,500 times and his repertoire consists of over 500 different historical figures, musicians, movie stars and athletes.
In 2005, Surette performed on Good Morning America, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and most recently in July 2010 on Oprah.
Rob has also been recognized by Mother Teresa's successor, Sr. Nirmala, of the Missionaries of Charity in Calcutta, India, with a personal phone call, thanking Rob for his work in American public schools, presenting his morals and values show.
She stated, “We are happy to know of the beautiful work you are doing to teach our children of the morals and values of heroes, such as our Mother Teresa, who were champions of love, respect and acceptance of all people. Our children are starved for these positive life supporting images. Thank you for using your God given gifts to show them that they may too, make a difference by using their power to serve one another.”
