The Christmas in the Valley Parade will start at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, December 7. This year’s theme is, “A Holiday Production” (your favorite holiday story or movie). If you would like to take part in the parade please contact me for a signup sheet, rule and regulations. The registration/lineup on Dec. 7 will open at 4:30 p.m. and will proceed until 5:15 p.m. at the second entrance to Mountain Valley High School. Judging will begin promptly at 5:30 in order for the judges to have ample time to visit all the floats, award the banners and allow for picture taking. It will be the same route as last year: up Hancock Street, down Lincoln Avenue, down Waldo Street, through the rotary, down Congress Street, stopping to have Santa light the Christmas tree. Santa will be available for picture taking opportunities at the Rumford Fire Department building after the three lighting ceremony (there will be goodies for the children). This means that the Christmas in the Valley Craft Fair on December 1 (9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the MVHS Gym) kicks off this year’s CITV holiday season.
