Looks like all the plans for the USSA Cross Country Championships at historic Black Mountain of Maine are in full production! The races will take place from January 2-8. Due to eight new high-powered snow guns (along with the six existing fan guns) and generators that are on loan from Pineland Farms, Milton-Cat, PC Construction and Cianbro there should be plenty of snow for the racers that week.
BMOM is also having a New Years Eve with MONSTA with Jimmy Austin as the opener for the evening. The BMOM snowmobile climb last week was a big success! It’s probably the only place around here with any snow to speak of thanks to their fine snow making capabilities.
The new Amato’s opening seemed to go well and it has a very nice atmosphere and a nice building as well. Good luck to Dave, Patty and their partners on their new endeavor.
We received a small amount of snow just in time to have a “White Christmas” even though it looks as thought the temperature may be on the upswing and the snow will not last. I am sure there is much more on the way that will make the outdoor snow enthusiasts very happy.
I am thinking about the Fourth of July challenge that Scot Grassette is contemplating (on his hands and knees from the top of Falls Hill to Hosmer Field). I am considering doing it with him but I want to see how his practice sessions go and if he recovers without being hospitalized!
