Chamber Chatter

Last week, I inadvertently reported that first prize for the July 4th River Valley Chamber of Commerce Lucky Duck event is $550 it is actually $500 for first prize followed by second place $250 and third being $150.

You will not only be able to purchase your duck at the Rumford Information Center but many of our member businesses have made the ducks available for purchase throughout the River Valley.

Aubuchon is having a ribbon cutting at the Rumford location and will be featuring its new building and the many improvements that have taken place. Al and his staff will start the event at 11 a.m.

The River valley Fourth of July Celebration Committee is still working diligently planning their event as well as continue to seek donations to help defray the cost of the fireworks.

Once again if you would like to make a donation for the fireworks please send it to, RVCC, 10 Bridge St., Rumford, ME 04276. Just note on the check that it is a donation for the River Valley fireworks and indicate that you would like a receipt returned to you for your donation.

I will be meeting with our Information Center volunteers soon to discuss the daily routine and improvements at the Rumford Information Center. We will be starting our summer hours (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) on May 27th. I expect even more visitors to be coming through the River Valley this year.

Stanley’s Furniture and Appliance Mart is having a Business After Hours Event on Thursday from 5:30-8:30 p.m. There will be door prizes, light refreshments and many special events.

If you would like more information on any of the Chamber’s events, call the office at 364-3241 or email info@rivervalleychamber.com.
