Democratic barbeque this Sunday
BRYANT POND -- Congressman Mike Michaud will be the guest of honor at the Oxford County Democrats annual summer barbeque fundraiser on Sunday at the University of Maine 4-H Camp and Learning Center on Lake Christopher.
Michaud recently announced his candidacy for Governor of Maine. Bangor City Councilman Joe Baldacci and State Senator Emily Cain of Orono, candidates for the Second Congressional District, will be in attendance, as will Democratic National Committeeman Phil Bartlett of Gorham.
The event will begin with a social time on the waterfront followed by dinner of hamburgers, hot dogs, veggie burgers, salads, and dessert in the dining hall and remarks by the guests, and by Democratic officeholders. Tickets for the event are $20 per person, and may be reserved by calling 875-2116, or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Recent activities by the Oxford County Democrats included an excellent day at the Dixfield Outdoor market. Senator John Patrick greeted many constituents, and he, as well as volunteers Bob Duplessie of Andover, Cathy Newell of Greenwood, Jimmy and Brenda McHugh of Mexico, Barbara Arsenault of Rumford and Bruce Bryant of Dixfield conducted a successful yard sale to benefit the Oxford County Democrats. Plans are in the works for Buckfield Community Day on Labor Day, as well as the fall fairs.
