Local election results
In Rumford, official results of municipal elections are as follows:
For selectman, Greg Buccina won re-election with 673 votes, while challengers Kevin Saisi had 227 votes and Mary E. McPherson had 186 votes.
For tax collector/constable, Tom Bourret won with 813 votes. Challengers Jeremy Vashaw had 110 votes, Cindy Kelley had 93 votes, Amy Bernard had 59 votes, and Kim Cocca had 39 votes.
Bourret has served as deputy tax collector since 2009. In February, tax collector and constable John Giambattista resigned to take a job elsewhere and selectmen appointed Bourret to fill his remaining term.
In the uncontested races, former selectman Jim Rinaldo, a write-in, won the Board of Assessors seat with 15 votes; Beth Bellegarde won re-election as town clerk with 1,024 votes; and Martha Chaisson won re-election as an RSU 10 school board director with 1,017 votes.
In Mexico, elected Richard Philbrick to another three-year term on the Board of Selectmen.
In Dixfield, the Board of Selectmen will look very different as residents elected Oxford County Sheriff's Office Capt. Hart Daley and local automobile business owner Scott Belskis to the board.
Longtime Selectman Norine Clarke was defeated in her bid for another term. Board Chairman Stephen Donahue chose not to run.
Voting totals for the two open seats were: Daley, 193; Belskis, 140; Clarke, 118; and Janice Merrill, 91.
In RSU 10, the 17-member board will change little after the re-election of several members. Among those were Peter Zanoni of Mexico, Dan Force of Hanover and Marcia Chaisson of Rumford, who were unopposed.
