"Fit Night" at Black Mountain

RUMFORD -- Black Mountain of Maine and the Chisholm Ski Club announce a new opportunity for this ski season through a partnership with Healthy Hometowns.

Through this organization, children grades K-8 will be able to lease cross-country ski equipment for the season at a minimal cost. At 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5, the mountain will host a "Fit Night" when kids can be fitted appropriately. They won’t outgrow this equipment in one year!

The skis, bindings, boots, and poles that will be leased can be used for both skate and classical techniques, and are available for the winter at a cost of $55 per child. This can save a lot of money from renting weekly, or from purchasing your own equipment, and make skiing affordable for your family to try cross-country skiing.

Parents will need to accompany their child to sign a release and make a payment, and you can also consider signing your child up for their new cross-country program, held both weekdays afterschool at your child’s school, and on Sundays at Black Mountain.
