Gov. LePage visits Rumford

RUMFORD -- On June 25, Governor Paul Lepage joined a sold out crowd at the Happy Days Celebration at the 49 Franklin Reception Center.

The Governor was joined by the First Lady, Anne, his daughter, Lauren LePage, and his mother-in-law, Rita DeRosby. The bi-partisan group of revelers, including local business, community and political leaders, gathered to let off a little steam at a summer party and to celebrate the actions taken by the LePage Administration and the Legislature aimed at restoring fiscal responsibility and declaring Maine as Open For Business.

The Governor delivered comments that summarized his goals, achievements and next steps for the great State of Maine.

The 1950’s retro theme was reminiscent of a time when the Rumford area thrived with opportunities. Party-goers dined on great food prepared by 49 Franklin, danced to great music provided by Grassette Entertainment and enjoyed the camaraderie of friends and neighbors. The evening was rounded out with raffles and hula hoop, twist and costume contests. A “really cool time” was had by all.
