Hole-In-One Golf Challenge For A Cure

RUMFORD -- Relay For Life kicks off on June 3 at the Hosmer Field Complex starting at 6 p.m. with the opening ceremony and survivors lap.

Over 20 teams, representing businesses, organizations, and families will be participating for the 18-hour event which concludes on Saturday with the Hole-in-One Golf Challenge starting at noon.

The Hole-in-One Golf Challenge For A Cure at the relay will be an exciting event to participate in. The object is to purchase a numbered golf ball which will be placed in a large bucket and raised by a crane high into the air. The crane will release the golf balls purchased, and they will drop down to the ground, with one lucky ball going into the golf cup ; the winner receiving a cash prize of $500; $1,000 if the winner is present at the event.

In the event that no golf ball falls into the golf cup, then the golf ball closest to the hole will be the winner.

The golf balls are available for purchase through any of the relay teams and will be sold at the Relay For Life Rally Friday evening and up until 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Stop by the Hole-In-One booth and purchase your golf ball for your chance to win the cash! All proceeds will go towards cancer research.
