REGION -- Newly elected National Commander Jim Koutz will visit Maine Legion Posts on Saturday.
Commander Koutz will have breakfast in Livermore Falls, the George Bunten Post 10 at 7 a.m. He will depart Livermore Falls around 9:15 and travel to the Napoleon Ouellette, Post 24 in Rumford to meet and greet area veterans in that community.
He will depart Rumford at approximately 10:45 to Locke Mills Post 68 in Greenwood for lunch with area veterans at 11:15. After lunch he will travel to Post 72 in South Paris at approximately 1:45 p.m. to greet veterans in that community as well. From there, he will travel back to the hotel in Auburn to prepare for the evening visit at Mechanic Falls Post 150 and a banquet at 5 p.m. The times are approximate and may change somewhat.
At the banquet in Mechanic Falls, the evening will start at 5-6 p.m. social hour, dinner at 6, with a menu of prime rib or chicken (choose only one) with all the fixings for $10 per person. Cut-off date: September 5. Reservations to be sent to American Legion Post 150 Elm St., Mechanic Falls, ME 04256; c/o Jim Russell.
All area veterans are encouraged to attend any or all of the scheduled events. It is not often that this area is visited by such a high ranking officer within the American Legion. Let’s be sure that Commander Koutz experiences some great Pine Tree hospitality during his stay.
