Mexico down two police officers
MEXICO -- Police Chief James Theriault was supposed to have knee replacement surgery on Monday, but now that's on hold.
That's because the five-man department is down two officers. Theriault has been filling in shifts and is also utilizing spares, but that number is low as well.
Town Manager John Madigan announced that fulltime Officer Kyle Matthews resigned a couple weeks ago due to personal reasons. However, Theriault added he was able to talk Matthews into returning as a reserve officer.
Further, Lt. Roy Hodsdon has been out due to an injury. He is due back in a couple of weeks.
Madigan said Friday that the town has not yet advertised to fill the position.
