Monsta featured at Moose Alley
RANGELEY -- The boys from Monsta will be lighting up the stage at Moose Alley in downtown Rangeley this Friday.
The rock band Monsta is a high-energy, five-piece band that has been gaining popularity in western Maine. Monsta formed in Rumford in December 2008 from seasoned local musicians who love to rock out to classic music from the 80's, 90's and today.
Lead singer, Dan-O McDonald belts out vocals from artists such as Bob Segar, CCR, and Sublime, yet his own distinct personality shines in each rendition.
Mike “Downzy” Downs is featured on screaming lead guitar. Mike nails licks from his favorite ax-men such as Eric Johnson, Slash, and Randy Rhodes. You won’t want to miss Mike’s version of “The Devil Went Down To Georgia” on lead guitar!
Rene Lee faithfully keeps the continuity going on rhythm guitar, as Troy P. “God of Thunder” keeps the bass thumping like an over the top, wild-man.
Drummer D-No “Hitman” Gilbert keeps the boys in line with solid beats throughout the night while adding many elements of rock and roll drumming theatrics.
Monsta has been extremely busy playing venues including Foggy Goggle at Sunday River, The Funky Red Barn, The Matterhorn, Sunday River Brewing Company in Bethel, Maple Lane Golf Course in Livermore, Club Texas in Auburn, and their home base at the Barnboard Tavern in Rumford.
