Looking for people to serve on Finance Committee
RUMFORD -- As another fiscal year approaches, it is the duty of the Moderator to present names of persons interested in being on the Rumford Finance Committee.
The Committee is responsible for appointing the Town Auditor and making recommendations regarding financial planning and an annual budget for the following year. There are very few meetings throughout the year with the majority taking place from April to June.
Any Rumford resident may be appointed to the committee except those holding other positions in the municipal government. If you are interested in being a member of the Rumford Finance Committee, submit your name and contact information to: Town Moderator, c/o Town Clerk, 145 Congress St., Rumford, ME. All submissions shall remain sealed and in the custody of the town clerk until after the election of the Moderator at town meeting.
The Moderator needs to submit a list of nominations by June 28th. Submissions received after that date cannot be included for appointment except to fill a vacancy that may occur later in the year.
