Remodeling project at Rite Aid
RUMFORD -- Employees at Rite Aid are excited about a remodeling project that gets underway this week.
Asst. Manager Donna Rotford said the Portland Street facility, built in 1997, will undergo changes "to become a wellness store."
She said the changes will make the store more customer friendly, with new floor coloring leading customers to the pharmacy, as well as the lowering of profiles so people entering the store can see the pharmacy located in back.
Rotford said this is in response to a constant over the years where customers were asking employees, "Where's the pharmacy?"
In addition, after the remodeling, she said there will be a "wellness ambassador" available with the responsibility of helping customers in the GNC area. There will also be a privacy room established for counseling as well as people receiving their shots.
Rotford said there will be about three weeks of construction, all of it conducted after regular store hours. There will also be a new color scheme of brown and green.
Following the remodeling, she said the store will have an open house over three weeks. What they will do is still in the works, but there will be specials.
This will be the second building in the downtown to undergo remodeling as nearby Dunkin' Donuts recently underwent a transformation.
