Santa coming to Mexico Friday

MEXICO -- The holiday season in the River Valley officially gets underway here this Friday with the annual Santa Claus parade.
The event, sponsored by the Mexico Fireman's Relief Association, will begin at 6 p.m. from the Franklin Savings Bank on Main Street.
From there, the parade will stop briefly at the fire station, where Santa will light the Christmas tree.
The parade will then continue down most of Main Street to Maddy's, then double back to the fire station.
There, Santa and Mrs. Claus will meet the children in the town's gazebo, where children will tell Santa their Christmas wishes before being given a bag of candy.
