Youths help police nab robbery suspects
MEXICO -- The quick action of two youngsters helped police in the arrest of a pair of 19 year olds.
Mexico Police Lt. Roy Hodsdon said Officer Kyle Matthews charged Joshua Weldon of Shapleigh and Brandon Buzynski of Limington with attempted robbery. Weldon was also charged with Class D assault.
He said the boys, around age 12, were riding their bikes down River Road when a vehicle pulled over in front of them. A man got out and threatened them, demanding money, with Weldon shoving one of the youths. The boys emptied their pockets.
After the men left, the youths pedaled home to tell their parents, who in turn, called the police.
"They were able to provide us with a vehicle description and plate. From that information we were able to create a photo lineup. Both boys identified the driver of the vehicle," said Hodsdon said
Weldon and Buzynski were released on bail and have a Dec. 16 arraignment in Oxford County Superior Court.
