DOOR-TO-DOOR VALENTINE COMMERCE

Donna Moore-Nisbet (right), owner of Donna’s Gift Emporium on Isthmus Road, and her helper, Maureen Merrill, are seen here spreading some Valentine love to Rita Burke and Margaret Aleck on Congress Street. The two decided to help promote local purchases and brought their goods to the streets, making more than $200 selling Valentine-themed gift baskets. “You can’t just sit back and wait for people to come to you,” stated Donna. “I still need to pay the bills. We had to figure out a way to get out to the public and show them what we have.
