FACILITY OF THE YEAR

FACILITY OF THE YEAR -- For the second time since 2008, Rumford Power, located at the end of the Rumford Industrial Park, was named Facility of the Year. Here, Justin Castagna (left), operations manager for the natural gas electricity-generating plant, accepts the 2011 Facility of the Year award from Teresa Glick of the Oxford County Local Emergency Planning Committee. Glick said Rumford Power, now owned by Capital Power of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, was recognized for its "outstanding efforts in reporting, planning, exercising and exceeding state and federal Environmental, Health and Safety Facility annual requirements." Castagna said they're very proud as a facility to get this achievement. The business, which generates electricity for the power grid, employs 17 people. (Times photo by Bruce Farrin)
