HELPING HANDS

HELPING HANDS -- For the second year in a row, the Swift River Valley Extension Homemakers Club has donated proceeds from their raffle table at the Rumford Elementary School Craft Show to the local food pantry, GRAMPA. Here, club member Karen Gallant presents a $100 check to Sue Byam (right), director of GRAMPA. With them are GRAMPA volunteers Dot Wing (left) and Ursula Withrow (second from right). The long-established club meets at 2 a.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at the Roxbury Town Office. New members are welcome. They meet to participate in learning new skills and practical information in cooperation with the Univ. of Maine throughout Oxford County. Fundraising for community service and hands-on is an important part of these services. (Times photo by Bruce Farrin)
