WREATH LAYING -- Legionaires and the VFW commander stand at the Rumford Memorial Green, where a wreath was laid to honor veterams on Dec. 9. Wreaths were also placed at the Mexico Veterans Green (inset left) and at the war memorial in Weld (inset right). Robert "Bub" Desroches of Dixfield was able to hang wreaths on 51 cemeteries and five war memorials, covering most of the River Valley as well as Weld, and the Turner and Auburn area. He said he hopes to hang another 30-40 more wreaths by Christmas and thanks people who have donated to this effort.
