Afterschool at Black Mountain

RUMFORD -- It was super busy last Wednesday at Black Mountain with youths on snowboards and skis all over the mountain.

This day was the first of four Wednesdays in which free skiing and snowboarding was offered for RSU 10 students and staff, thanks to a collaborative effort by Black Mountain and the Western Foothills Kids Association-Afterschool Program.

Afterschool program director Allie Burke was pleased with the turnout for the event as 45 youngsters were participating.

Students in grades K-5 participating had to be accompanied by an adult, with rentals offered at a reduced rate of $10. Parents of the children could ski as well for $10 for a lift ticket and $10 for rentals.
