Hope Association; Partners in Community
It doesn't seem possible, but another month has flown by and here I am, bursting at the seams to tell you a little about what's been happening at the Hope Association.
We're very excited to have Fawn (Palmer) Maness join our team as financial coordinator. Fawn graduated from Mexico High School and soon after, she moved to Tennessee and lived there for 25 years.
While there she worked for First Image Management, a company which provided print, mail and microfilm services. She held positions as an administrative assistant and project coordinator. From there she went on to work for Healthcare Corporation of America (HCA, Inc), the nation’s leading provider of health care services.
During her 11-year career with HCA, she held positions of administrative assistant, office manager, and telecommunications analyst/project manager. Training opportunities with HCA allowed Fawn to become highly skilled in many computer applications.
In 2009 she decided to move back to Maine to be close to family and worked a contract position with Fidelity Information Services in Lewiston as a project analyst.
She is currently completing an Associate’s Degree in Computer Technologies at Central Maine Community College in Auburn, a degree that was started in Tennessee.
Personal interests include singing, playing guitar, web design, graphic design, and rug carving. Fawn is also a member of the Eagles.
Now, where would I be if I didn't mention what Hope Association is doing to partner with our community.
The giving back our community does for us as well as others is especially heartwarming. The American Legion Auxiliary is hosting a “Super Benefit” February 19 to raise money to support our local troops. These donations purchase items that are then sent in care packages to men and women from our own River Valley area.
Hope Association participants, as well as many others in town, have put together beautiful baskets to be raffled off during the benefit. Thank you for giving us this opportunity to give back.
