Looking ahead; CITV parade 2011
RUMFORD- The Christmas in the Valley parade committee and the Rumford Fireman's Relief Association has decided, due to the excitement over this year's parade, to set the 2011 theme.
Put your creative hats on and start designing your float for “A Christmas in Maine.”
What do you think of when you think of Christmas in Maine? Do you think of the old Maine Christmas Song that came out in the late 80's? “It's the spirit of Maine at Christmas time, from her mountains to her great Atlantic shores.” Or, do you think of the majority of us with decorated sheds, lighted tires in the yard and our dogs, cats and vehicles wearing antlers?
Either way, everyone is sure to have their own unique ideas when it comes to their depiction of A Christmas in Maine.
As the winners of the 2010 parade competition, the Rumford Falls Times would like to put a challenge out to all businesses and organizations to join in the fun. There's nothing like a little healthy holiday competition to create a sense of togetherness in the community. Besides, we'd like to see the traveling trophy make its way around to a few more businesses.
We're not sure if you're aware of this or not, but Franklin Savings Bank has put together the first place business float for more years than anyone else. Kudos to them for setting the bar so high.
