Rose Emma Farnum Dyer

MELBOURNE, FL -- Rose Emma Farnum Dyer, 95, died on July 1, 2012 at the Life Care Center of Melbourne, FL with family by her side.

Rose was born in Woodstock on April 25, 1917, the daughter of Clarence and Mary Buck Farnum. She graduated from Norway High School in the Class of 1935. She married Arland Dyer in 1939. They made their home in Milton Plantation.

Rose held various positions over the years and one of her favorites was working at Brooks Brothers in Bethel, serving her hardware customers. Rose was very proud of the fact that she waited on Paul Newman. She worked well into her 70's before retiring.

Rose enjoyed traveling and visiting with family and friends across the United States. She made two trips to Alaska, one with family and friends through an Elder Hostel Program and the other on a cruise. She also cruised the Caribbean and to Bermuda. One of Rose's favorite pastimes was playing cards. She loved playing cribbage, Hand & Foot, and playing Skip-Bo with her grand and great-grandchildren. Rose spent happy times at Joe's Club during the winter of 2012, where she was the Queen of Bingo.

Survivors include daughters, Patricia Errington and her husband, Michael of Melbourne, FL, and Nancy Twitchell of Bethel. Three grandchildren, Michael and Melissa Errington, Robert Errington and Tracy Twitchell Milligan and husband, Jeffery. Great grandchildren are Emma, Ava, Victoria, Nikki, Raeanne and Rebecca.

Rose was predeceased by her parents; her husband; her brother, Donald Farnum; and her grandson, Jeremy Twitchell.

Graveside services will be held on July 21, 2012 at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Abbotts Mills Cemetery, Rumford, with Pastor Lloyd Waterhouse officiating.
