Marguerite M. “Maggie” “Git” Gaudet

RUMFORD -– Marguerite M. “Maggie” “Git” Gaudet, 85, of Grandview Circle, Mexico, died on March 5, 2011 at Rumford Hospital following a brief illness.

She was born in Mexico on November 10, 1925, a daughter of Frank and Elizabeth (Arsenault) Gaudet. Maggie attended St. Theresa’s School and Mexico High School.

She was employed for 45 years with Oxford Paper Co., starting in the finishing department and retired as a process control tester.

Maggie was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior. She was a member of the Boise 25 and 40 Year Club.

Maggie enjoyed knitting, fishing and traveling. She also enjoyed her many trips to Foxwoods and PEI and was an avid Red Sox Fan.

Surviving are a sister, Sr. Alma Richard SSCH of Marlborough, MA; a brother, Arthur Gaudet and wife, Emelda of Gardner, MA; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; a brother, Edmond Gaudet; and two sisters, Emelia Roach and Helen Theriault.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday at the Parish of the Holy Savior. Spring interment will be in St. John Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Maggie’s memory may be made to Parish of the Holy Savior Church, 126 Maine Ave., Rumford, ME 04276.
