Warren K. Oakes

AUBURN -– Warren K. Oakes, 59, died on March 1, 2011 at his residence on Roak Street, Auburn.

He was born in Mexico, ME on July 17, 1951, a son of Walter and Gloria (Kimball) Oakes. He graduated from Dixfield High School Class of 1969 and Colby College Class of 1973.

Warren worked at TD Banknorth as an interpreter.

He was a member of the International Lilacs Society and enjoyed cooking, shopping, gardening, and spoke five languages.

Survivors include sisters, Valerie Wolstencroft and husband, David of Dixfield, Melissa Jordan and husband, David of South Carolina; a brother, David Oakes of Alfred; an uncle, Clifford Oakes and wife, Gloria of Dixfield; an aunt, Dorothy Chopping and husband, Roger of Dixfield; and his companion, Bill Channell of Auburn.

Funeral services will be held at the family’s convenience.
