Kenneth (Ken) Hayden Adams
LEWISTON -- Kenneth (Ken) Hayden Adams, 63, of Lewiston, passed away on August 12, 2012, surrounded by his family.
He was born on December 6, 1948 to J. Wesley and Marie Adams.
Ken was a very proud and devoted grandfather of two: Alexandria Cecilia (Ceci) Adams and Matthew Hayden Adams. He shared his love of animals with his grandchildren and encouraged them to pursue their passions. Ken never forgot a birthday or holiday and would surprise his grandkids with care packages from Maine. His son Erik and daughter-in-law Roseann will miss him dearly and wish that the distance between California and Maine was not so great that they could have spent more time with their father.
Ken was a Vietnam veteran and served in the US Air Force. Following his military service, he became an expert in automobile repair and restoration - his preference being Corvettes. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was an avid lover of all animals, especially wildlife.
He enjoyed working with his nephew, Travis on Travis’s race car at Oxford Plains Speedway. He also spent quality time with his nephew, Tyler providing encouragement and nurturing that is a part of Tyler’s success as a Corporal in the U.S Marine Corps.
Ken is survived by his father, J. Wesley Adams of Auburn; son, Erik Hayden and his wife, Roseann of Irvine, CA; grandchildren, Ceci and Matthew of Irvine, CA; sisters, Marianne Snow of New Gloucester, and Kay and her husband, Russ Doucette of Scarborough; sister-in-law, Connie Adams of Canton; nephews, Travis Adams, his wife, Becky and their sons, Austin and Brayden of Canton, and Corporal Tyler Snow, Cherry Point, NC; niece, Erica Snow of New Gloucester; longtime beloved companion, Sara Therriault of Auburn; and many friends.
Ken is predeceased by his mother, Marie Adams and brother, Don Adams.
Family and friends are invited to visit from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, September 7 at Dillingham & Son Funeral Memorial Chapel, 62 Spring St., Auburn.
