Pauline M. Allen
LEWISTON -– Pauline M. Allen, 78, of Granite Street in Mexico, died on July 9, 2011 at Central Maine Medical Center following a brief illness, with her loving family at her side.
She was born in Rumford on December 2, 1932 a daughter of Vincent and Margaret O. (Arsenault) Gallant. Pauline was educated in Rumford Schools and was a graduate of Stephens High School Class of 1951.
She was employed for many years with Freddie’s Restaurant and the Mexico Chicken Coop as a bartender, retiring in 1994.
Pauline was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She enjoyed watching her favorite soap operas and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cribbage and brunch at the Covered Wagon with her daughter, Val and son-in-law, Mark.
Surviving are her children, Valerie McKenna and husband, Mark of Mexico, Maureen Koehler and husband, Kevin of Pembroke, MA, Richard L. Allen and wife, Valerie of Byron, James L. Allen and wife, Marybeth of Mexico; a sister, Bernadette Marchetti of Jay; brothers-in-law, Anthony Fergola of Mexico, and Maurice Allen and wife, Clara of Mexico; eight grandchildren, Matthew, Brian, Jeffrey Koehler, Kristen Provencher and husband, Corey, Jessica Allen, Ayla Allen, Amanda Allen and Richard L. Allen, Jr; and two great-grandchildren, Cash Provencher and Aeryana Laigle.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Leonard Allen, a sister, Isabelle Fergola; and four brothers, Albert, Robert, Vincent and Philippe Gallant.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Parish of the Holy Savior. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery.
