Francis W. “Frank” Bulger
AUBURN -– Francis W. “Frank” Bulger, 71, of Spruce Street in Rumford, died on August 8, 2011 at the Hospice House in Auburn following a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease.
He was born in Dixfield on June 19, 1940, a son of Earl and Dorothy (Eastman) Bulger. Frank was educated in Rumford schools and was a graduate of Stephens High School Class of 1959.
He served in the U.S. Army and the Army National Guard.
Frank was employed for 34 years with the Rumford School Department as a custodian and bus driver. He was a member of the American Legion, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the LeParesseux Snowshoe Club.
Frank volunteered with the Boy Scouts and coached baseball for many years. He loved spending time with his family and watching his grandson Hunter play football and taking him to NWA Wrestling.
Franks biggest love in life was his wife, Bonnie.
Surviving are his wife of 19 years, Bonnie (Peare) Bulger of Rumford; a mother-in-law, Alyce Peare of West Paris; two children, John Bernard and wife, Tammi of Rumford, and Heather Jackson and fiance, Adam Conley of Rumford; two sisters, Susan Brown and husband, Leslie of Dryden, and Earline Snell of Mexico; three sisters-in-law, Marie Halacy of Hanover, Donna Worcester and husband, Glenn of Hanover, and Lisa Thebarge and husband, Henry of Roxbury; two brothers-in-law, Peter Peare of Berlin, NH, and Daniel Peare and wife, Kim of Andover; five grandchildren, Lacresha Howard, Kearra Howard, Nickolas Harnden, Hunter Bernard and Nichole Bernard; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents and an aunt, Mildred Harlow.
Visiting hours will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday at SG Thibault Funeral Home, 250 Penobscot St., Rumford. A memorial service will be held 11:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Rumford Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Frank’s memory may be made to the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, 236 Stetson Rd., Auburn, ME 04210.
