Virginia (Ginny) Learned Buotte
FARMINGTON -- Virginia (Ginny) Learned Buotte, 72, of Farmington died on April 5, 2011, surrounded by her loving family at Edgewood Rehabilitation & Living Center.
Ginny was blessed with 11 more years of life as a result of her son, John donating a kidney.
Ginny was born in Rumford on Nov. 24, 1938, the daughter of William and Isabel (Brown) Canwell. She graduated from Stephens High School in 1956.
She enjoyed her work as a CNA and EMT in the Bethel area, and as a manager for CN Brown before retiring in 1995 due to poor health. Ginny had an empathy for the ill and unfortunate and an instinct for providing aid and comfort which earned her the respect and gratitude from the many she helped.
She enjoyed cooking, gardening, the Red Hats, family gatherings, and camping at Natanis Point Campground in Eustis.
Ginny is survived by her daughters, Debra Brown and husband, Fred, Sheri Judkins and husband, Rodney, Cindy Sweetser, Vikki Kemp and husband, Carson, Tammy Jolin and husband, Leo; son, John Learned; stepdaughter, Linda Robinson and husband, Ron; a sister, Carole Freeman; and four brothers, Richard, Maurice, Timothy and Randall; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and two step-great grandchildren.
Ginny was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Nelson; brother, John Canwell; and son-in-law, Leo Poirier, Jr.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Edgewood for the excellent care Ginny received during her three-year stay.
A graveside service will be held on May 9, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the St. Johns Cemetery in Rumford. Those wishing may make donations in Ginny's memory to the Franklin County Animal Shelter, 550 Industry Rd., Farmington, ME 04938.
