BELEN, NM -- Brandon Young, 29, of Dixfield, our beloved son, brother and friend, passed away after succumbing to injuries following a motor vehicle accident in Belen, NM on October 1, 2012.

Brandon was born Sept. 28, 1983 in Lewiston and spent most of his younger years growing up in Byron and Dixfield. He loved to jump and swim at Coos Canyon, snowmobile and hunt the Byron area, spending time with his grandfather, Norman Young, Jr., who predeceased him in 2011. We know they are together watching over us now.

Brandon graduated from Dirigo High School in 2002 and Nascar Technical Institute in 2006. He traveled the country working on wind turbines as a Commissioning/SCADA Tech and was employed by Renewable Concepts. He enjoyed his years developing many long lasting friendships. His most cherished moments were coming home to Maine to visit family and friends, eating a true Italian sandwich and whoopie pie. Brandon’s sense of humor and willingness to watch over his family and friends will be deeply missed.

Brandon is survived by his two sons, Gage and Cole Young of California, his pride and joy; his mother and father, Michelle (Blais) and Norman Young III of Dixfield; sister and brother-in-law, Amanda and Tim Kane of Dixfield, their three children, Sean, Leah and Zach; brother, Craig Young of Rumford; grandparents, Ann Blais of Turner and Gerard Blais of Lewiston, Marion Hodsdon of Dixfield and Janet Law of Byron; aunts and uncles, David and Terri Blais of Indiana; Julie and Mark Daniels of Lisbon; Dan and Mary Blais of Colorado; Anita Blais of Lewiston; Melissa and James Ramey of Byron; Terry Dube of Sabattus; best friend and cousin, Ryan Plourde of Nevada; cousins, Jay and Derek Blais of Lewiston, Matt Boucher of Rumford; many aunts, uncles and cousins and friends; and special friend, Jessica Martinez.

A special thank you to the Los Lumas, NM community for their search efforts and support during this difficult time. May God bless you Brandon. We love and miss you dearly.

A celebration of Brandon’s life will be held outdoors at noon Saturday at the Coos Canyon Campground, 445 Swift River Rd., Byron. Phone: (207) 364-3880. Knowing Brandon’s style and his love for Italian sandwiches and whoopie pies, we are asking that everyone bring their own Italian sandwich and whoopie pie. Please dress warmly and comfortably. In lieu of flowers, a college scholarship for Brandon’s two sons will be established at the Oxford Federal Credit Union, P.O. Box 252, 225 River Rd., Mexico, ME.
