SOUTH PARIS -- Theda P. Chamberlain, 90, died on February 27, 2013 at the Maine Veterans Home in South Paris.

She moved to Rumford in 1954 and has since resided on the South Rumford Road.

She was the daughter of Wilfred and Edith (Ames) Pearson, born in Guilford on April 15, 1922 where she grew up and graduated from Guilford High School Class of 1940. She considered her career to be a homemaker, wife and mother.

Theda was a member of the Rumford United Methodist Church and had been a Sunday School Teacher and a Cub Scout Leader for many years. She enjoyed golfing, bowling and loved her family.

She was married in Guilford on December 24, 1940 to Reginald P. Chamberlain of Howland. He died in West Paris on January 22, 2002.

Survivors include a daughter, Candace Boyne and husband, John of Freeport; sons, Jeffrey Chamberlain of Holeb, and Craig Chamberlain and his companion, Rebecca Perez of South Rumford; grandchildren, Christopher of Rumford, Montana, Jason of South Rumford, and Andrea Chamberlain of San Antonio, TX; Jennifer Boyne McDonnough and her husband, Michael of Quincy, MA, and Sarah Boyne Marxhausen and her husband, Jeffrey of Scarborough; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the B Unit Staff at the Maine Veterans Home with special thanks to Jenny and Dana and to Beacon Hospice for their care of Theda.
