Angelo P. Cocca
RUMFORD -- Angelo P. Cocca, 92, of Rumford, died on January 8, 2013 at the Rumford Hospital.
He was born in Rumford on July 29, 1920, the son of Marco and Cecelia (Filarmonica) Cocca. He had attended schools in Rumford.
During World War II he served as a PFC U.S. Army, Battery B 410th Artillery Battalion including the European African Middle Eastern Theater.
He was a mill worker for over 40 years and retired as a floor truck operator in 1982 from Boise Cascade Paper Company in Rumford.
He was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior, St. Athanasius – St. John Church, a member of Napoleon Ouellette Post #24, American Legion, Robert Shand Post #1641, VFW, and Gorizia Lodge #467, Sons of Italy.
He was married in Rumford on June 17, 1944 to Rita A Doirion, who died May 16, 1999 in Rumford.
Survivors include sons Peter Cocca and wife, Kim of Rumford, and David Cocca and wife Terry of Lawrenceville, GA; grandchildren, Jesse Cocca of Rumford, Paul Sullivan of Portland, Jennifer and Angela Cocca of Lawrenceville, GA; great-grandchildren, Taylor Pelletier of Rumford, Tyler Cocca of Lawrenceville, GA, and Evan Breau of Rumford.
He was predeceased by his sister, Dora DeSalle; and three brothers, Jimmy Cook, Tony Cook and Michael Cocca.

Graveside services with Military Honors will be conducted at noon on Friday, July 19, 2013 at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, (Old Cemetery), Civic Center Drive, Augusta. Those who desire please contribute to the Victorian Villa, 26 Pleasant St., Canton, ME 04221 in his memory.
